This project presents the key visual and communication toolkit created for an annual award ceremony held at Minamiza Theatre in Kyoto, one of Japan’s most historic and iconic theaters.
The design is built around the theme of “Returning to the Origin.”
The radial composition of color planes and lines abstractly represents the layers of time and the diverse initiatives that have accumulated over the years. While each element expands outward in different directions, the viewer’s gaze converges toward a single point, symbolizing the origin.
The color palette reflects the accumulation of efforts from the past to the present, while overlapping shapes and varied angles create a sense of continuity and depth. By gathering these elements into a single focal point, the composition visualizes the award as a moment to revisit its origins and connect them to future developments.
Based on this concept, a comprehensive visual toolkit was developed to ensure consistency across the award’s communication materials. Deliverables include award certificates, stickers and logo stickers, presentation templates, and social media announcement graphics.
As a yearly event, the visual system represents a moment of reflection—recognizing past achievements while opening the path toward future possibilities.
